“As for your question about Trump, many people here criticize him for Syrian politics and some other things.  Our countries are not best friends in political life now.  😦  Hope, this relations will be better in the future.”

(This postcard came blank in an envelope. The sender wrote me a letter instead.)

“As for your question about D. Trump.  It’s difficult for me, because our countries not in good relations for a long time.  As for me personaly, Donald Trump looks like very impulsive and sometimes he sais things very rude or intolerant.  It’s really bad way for a president, no matter what country is.  We have a politician, he is similar nature – Vladimir Zhirinovsky.  I hate lot’s of things he said, and I hope he never be a president of Russia.  Anyway, lot’s of political decisions people don’t like. These disagreements between Russia and USA are only between top politicians.  I know lot’s of people who like American culture, food, nature and traditions, but hate American government.  I guess, the same things about Russians in USA.”

(The postcard says “Happy birthday!” and was printed in 1958.)

“I don’t know how is Donald Trump as a leader, because I don’t interest in political.”

The sender of this postcard tells me that her hometown of Tomsk is famous for wooden homes, and that Tomsk is known as “Siberian Athens” because there are many universities.  Find more information about Tomsk and the wooden buildings here.

“I do not understand politics.  But in the elections, I was rooting for Donald Trump because I thought that his election victory would be able to normalize relations between Russia and the United States.”

“In my opinion, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were quite controversial candidates. It must have been a difficult choice for many American people. Trump has made some questionable decisions so far, but I hope he’ll be able to do something good for your country in future.”
